This 1993 British four coin gold proof sovereign set is struck in 22 carat gold fineness and contains the the quintuple sovereign, double sovereign, full sovereign and half sovereign.
This set also includes a silver medallion of Benedetto Pistrucci, the designer of the classic St George & Dragon engraving which has graced the reverse of most gold sovereigns since 1817.The issue limit placed on the 1993 set was 1,500 and only 1,336 were issued.
